Adventure at Dalen is created for those who wish to experience the hotel as it has been enjoyed for generations. The days are shaped by good meals, historic lounges and views across Lake Bandak, while the evenings gather guests around candlelight, piano music and storytelling in the fireplace lounge.
There is no fixed agenda here. Just time to settle into the rhythm of the house, enjoy the surroundings and experience the moments that make a stay at Dalen something more than an overnight visit.
The Evening
The stay begins with an aperitif in the hotel’s historic lounges before the evening continues in Restaurant Bandak.
Here, a seasonal 3-course dinner is served, inspired by the ingredients and flavours of Telemark. After dinner, the evening continues in the lounges and fireplace room, with piano music, candlelight and time for conversation.
A Taste of the Season
The menu follows the seasons and the ingredients available throughout the year.
Drawing inspiration from Telemark and classical culinary traditions, the kitchen creates dishes that reflect both the landscape surrounding the hotel and the heritage of Dalen itself.

Each evening, the restaurant is set with white gloves and bow ties, creating a setting that makes the evening feel a little different. Many guests choose to dress up for the occasion, though the most important thing is that you feel comfortable.

Active Spring
For those who wish to combine their stay with activities, both ski resorts and prepared cross-country skiing trails are within a short driving distance from the hotel.�
Vrådal, Hallbjønnsekken, Rauland and Haukelifjell often offer good conditions well into the spring – before the day ends back at Dalen, in warmer and quieter surroundings.
