Half-Day Tour Morning
The journey begins on the water, with a two-hour cruise through the canal landscape. Along the route, you pass the Vrangfoss Locks – the largest lock system in the Telemark Canal, with a lift height of 23 metres – where you can watch the lock keepers at work.
Back in Ulefoss, the day continues with a meal at Spiseriet, followed by a guided walk through the historic surroundings of Øvre Verket, offering insight into life at Norway’s oldest industrial site.

Itinerary
10:00 AM – Meeting at Ulefoss Locks
10:30 AM – Departure with M/S Victoria or M/S Henrik Ibsen
12:50 PM – Arrival at Lunde Lock
01:40 PM – Departure by canal bus from Lunde Lock
01:55 PM – Arrival at Ulefoss Locks
02:45 PM – Two-course meal at Spiseriet
03:45 PM – Guided tour at Øvre Verket
Guided tour
After arriving at Ulefoss Locks, follow the road towards the parking area and continue along the pavement towards the centre of Ulefoss. The walk takes around 10 minutes. You may also choose to drive to Øvre Verket.
During the guided tour, you will hear stories from daily life at Ulefoss Ironworks and learn more about the people who once lived and worked here. Øvre Verket consists of protected workers’ houses and today includes exhibitions, local crafts and a small gift shop.
