The year is 1907. In a fictional story from Dalen Hotel, the German Emperor Wilhelm II is found dead under mysterious circumstances. A gardener is arrested, and the case is closed. But not everyone is convinced that the right person was caught.

Now it’s your turn to investigate what really happened.

With a file filled with interrogations, letters, newspaper clippings, and old documents, you will follow the clues through the hotel. Who is telling the truth? What do the documents hide? And was the gardener really guilty?

Follow the clues through the hotel

You will be given a file with the documents you need to solve the mystery. By scanning a QR code, you will start the investigation on your mobile.

Through six tasks, you will examine documents and follow the clues around the hotel. Each answer leads you to the next task.

If you get stuck, you can ask for a hint. Each hint adds five minutes to your final time.

When the mystery is solved, you will see how you did compared to other teams.

Practical information

Duration: 90–120 minutes

Group size: 4–5 people per team, with up to six teams at the same time.

Execution: The activity is carried out at Dalen Hotel. Each team needs a mobile phone with internet access, as well as access to tables and chairs along the way.
