Historic Stay
Experience the culture and traditions of Telemark.
The stay begins with Afternoon Tea in the hotel lounges before check-in and a quiet transition into the evening. Later, a three-course dinner is served at Restaurant Bandak, before the evening continues with piano music and storytelling in the lounge.
During your stay, you will visit the Vest-Telemark Museum in Eidsborg, where history, architecture and traditions offer insight into the region’s long cultural history. The following morning, breakfast is served before departure.
About Vest-Telemark Museum Eidsborg
Vest-Telemark Museum Eidsborg includes a modern museum building, a courtyard with more than 30 historic buildings and one of the world’s oldest wooden structures, Stålekleivloftet from 1167. Here, you will also find the historic Eidsborg Stave Church, dating back to the 12th century.
The museum offers the opportunity to experience the region’s rich cultural heritage through historic buildings, art exhibitions and collections spanning from the Middle Ages to the present day.
We recommend joining one of the guided tours of the museum and stave church. Please see the museum’s website for further information.

Each evening, the restaurant is set with white gloves and bow ties, creating a setting that makes the evening feel a little different. Many guests choose to dress up for the occasion, though the most important thing is that you feel comfortable.
