Terms and Conditions

These terms apply to all reservations at Dalen Hotel, company registration number: 932 934 868. This applies regardless of whether the reservation is made directly, through third-party channels, or travel agencies.

 

General Terms & Conditions

Check-in and Check-out
Check-in is from 15:00.
Check-out is by 11:00.

Dress code
The hotel encourages a dress code in the hotel starting from the evening, at 18:00, when the pianist begins playing. In Restaurant Bandak, the dress code is "smart attire" during dinner. Smart attire: trousers, skirt, dress, shirt, blazer, and dress shoes. Blazers are available for loan, and shirts can be purchased at the hotel. Shorts, sandals, and t-shirts are acceptable during the day.

Responsibility
The booking party is responsible for any damage caused to the hotel as a result of negligent or intentional behavior by the guests in their party (force majeure excluded). Violations will have financial consequences. The hotel reserves the right to expel the guest(s) from the premises.

Commercial activity
Any commercial activities in connection with the stay must be agreed upon with the hotel in advance.

Non-smoking hotel
Dalen Hotel is a non-smoking hotel. Due to the hotel’s age and historical significance, we ask that smoking only be done in designated areas. A fine of NOK 10 000 will be charged for violations. In case of smoking in public areas, the hotel reserves the right to ask the guest to leave the premises.

Guests per room
Hotel rooms can accommodate a maximum of two guests per room. If there are more than two in your party, you will need to book two or more rooms, regardless of the age of the children.

Children at the hotel
Children of all ages are welcome to stay at the hotel and will be charged as adults from the age of 13. The minimum age to make a reservation and stay alone at the hotel is 18 years.

Extra bed
Due to the size of the rooms, an extra bed is only available in the Dalen Suite. An additional fee will apply for setup and breakfast.

Pets
Dogs and cats are allowed in certain rooms. This must be arranged with the hotel in advance, and an additional fee will be charged per stay.

Lost & Found
Lost items that are found will be kept for 3 months. The guest is responsible for covering any costs related to the shipping of lost items.

Parking and charging
Free parking is available for hotel guests, with ample space and the option for electric vehicle charging. Charging is managed by EasyPark, and we recommend downloading the app before arrival (Android ; iPhone). Don’t forget your Type 2 charging cable.

Force Majeure
Force majeure may be invoked if the guest's journey to Dalen Hotel becomes impossible to carry out. Events beyond the control of the contracting party—such as strikes, lockouts, fires, etc.—that make it impossible to fulfill the obligations of this agreement, entitle the affected party to cancel the agreement without liability for compensation. Dalen Hotel reserves the right to verify any claims of force majeure made by the guest.

 

Payment Terms

All individual reservations at Dalen Hotel are to be paid upon check-in, unless otherwise agreed. Changing dates is considered a cancellation and a new booking according to the hotel’s cancellation policy, and is thus subject to the cancellation deadline.

Cancellation
All cancellations must be submitted in writing to [email protected] .

VAT and price adjustment
In the event of changes to taxes and fees, we reserve the right to adjust confirmed prices according to the new tax level. We also reserve the right to change prices for services provided by third parties.

Transaction Fees
All fees related to bank transactions are to be covered by the guest.

 

Group Reservations - Special Terms & Conditions

Booking
The number of participants, costs, accommodation, dining, and other goods and services to be provided by the hotel are specified in the booking confirmation.

Validity
The agreed prices are binding for both parties. Dalen Hotel reserves the right to adjust prices due to cost increases from changes in taxes or other factors beyond our control.

Cancellation of accommodation and other goods and services
All cancellations and changes must be made in writing. 

The following cancellation terms apply:

  • For bookings of 5 - 10 rooms
  • Up to 30 days before arrival: The entire event can be canceled free of charge.
  • 15-29 days before arrival: 50% can be canceled free of charge.
  • 0-14 days before arrival: The booker will be charged 100% of the agreed price for the entire stay.

  • For booking of 11 - 42 rooms
  • Up to 60 days before arrival: The entire event can be canceled free of charge.
  • 30-59 days before arrival: 50% can be canceled free of charge.
  • 15-29 days before arrival: 20% can be canceled free of charge.
  • 0-14 days before arrival: The booker will be charged 100% of the agreed price for the entire stay.

 

Payment / deposit / partial payment
For corporate clients, credit must be pre-approved. Invoices to credit clients must be paid within 10 days of receipt. Invoice fee: NOK 125. Late payment interest applies in accordance with Norwegian law and is currently 9.00% per year. A separate account will be set up for each participant for any additional charges not included in the offer. The customer is responsible for any unpaid participant charges.

Event details
At least 21 days before the event or reservation, the hotel requires all relevant information from the customer, including participant lists, schedules, menus, activities, and transport. All groups of eight or more guests must pre-order meals, and we expect group meals to be taken in the restaurant.

Allocation of hotel rooms
Booked rooms are available from 15:00 on the day of arrival, and must be vacated by 11:00 on the day of departure. An additional day’s charge may apply if these times are not adhered to.

Special conditions
Placement of gifts, use of special equipment, decorations, posters, flags, or signs must be agreed upon and approved in advance. Food and drink brought from outside are only allowed in the rooms, not in the hotel’s public areas.

Commercial activities
Any commercial activities in connection with the stay must be agreed upon with the hotel.

Liability for damages
The organizer is responsible for any damage caused to the hotel or partners as a result of negligent or intentional behavior by participants. Any damages will be invoices to the organizer or affected guests.

Complaints
Any complaints should be made as soon as possible and no later than at the time of departure to be considered.

Force Majeure
Force majeure may be claimed if the guest's travel to Dalen Hotel becomes impossible. Events beyond the control of the contracting parties – such as strikes, lockouts, fires, etc., that make fulfilling the agreement impossible – entitle either party to terminate the agreement without liability. Dalen Hotel reserves the right to review all force majeure claims made by guests.

Jurisdiction
Any disputes arising between the parties to this agreement or between guests and the company shall be governed by Norwegian law. If the dispute cannot be resolved amicably, it will be handled by the court in the hotel’s local jurisdiction.
