Söderköping/Mangelgården, STF Hostel
Söderköping is a charming town with cobblestone streets, delightful small squares and a lively harbour that serves the Göta Canal. Stay at Mangelgården, a beautiful building with a long history starting in the 18th century, in luxuriant surroundings in the centre of town. The rooms have 2-6 beds and the town centre is only a couple of minutes’ walk away.
STF Hostel Mangelgården is housed in a cozy cultural House from the 18th century and is situated on Korskullen. About 100 m from Söderköpings Brunn and easy walking distance to the Göta Canal and the city's attractions.

We can unfortunately not accept pets.

In Söderköping and the surrounding area there is a lot to do and see. Cycle paths along the Göta canal, outdoor swimming, middle age churches, an old town centre, gardens, pleasant shopping, cafés and restaurants, many events such as Medeltida Gästabud (see the local district website www.soderkoping,se). We can also arrange guided tours. Golf course 9km, Stegeborg castle ruins 20km, S:t Anna archipelago 40km, Kolmården Zoo 45km.
History
Söderköping offers a delightful atmosphere with vibrant Canal port and the historical streets and alleys. Mangelgården is one of Sweden's oldest hostel and was from 1937 housed in the smaller building the gatehouse at the entrance to Korskullens camping.1952 was added in Mangelgården as hostels. The House was built as a residence to a burgher family in 1777. In 1945 the House was dismantled and moved to Korskullen, where it still is. Here you will stay in a historic setting, close to all amenities.
Good to know
Reservations are obligatory between 1/4-31/5 and 1/9-31/10.
In June- August, the reception is open daily between 17.00-19.00 (16/6-10/8 also 9.00-10.00).
Please check in between 17.00-18.00 (unless otherwise arranged with hostel warden).
Check out by 10.00.
